What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, a chosen display name, and a hashed password. When you submit a community report, review, or discussion post, we store that content along with your account ID so we can attribute it to you. We log basic request data (IP address, user agent, referrer) for security and abuse-prevention purposes for up to 90 days.

How we use it

We use your account information to authenticate you and to display your contributions to other community members. We use aggregated, non-identifying data to improve the platform — for example, to understand which property categories or product categories are most useful to the mold-aware community. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookies & tracking

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie-consent preference. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. When you click an outbound affiliate link (for example, to Booking.com or Expedia), the destination site sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book a stay or buy a product through one of these links, we may earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay, and listing a property or product on MoldFam is never contingent on affiliate participation. Third-party services

We use Supabase to host our database and authentication, Vercel to host the web application, Mapbox to render maps, and Google Places to enrich hotel data. Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and we share with them only the minimum information necessary to provide the service.

Your choices

You can edit your display name, change your password, or delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your profile and your ability to sign in; community contributions you have made may be retained in anonymized form so existing discussion threads remain readable.
