“Get a room in the Views section of the Hotel Del Coronado. It's on the peninsula in San Diego and you have to cross a bridge so it's not in Escondido...It is very close to Naval Bases but I didn't have a problem. It's quiet.”

In a thread: Seeking hotel recommendations in downtown San Diego with open windows or balconies that are mold-free.
“The newer section of Hotel Del Coronado has a balcony slider that opens, but it's not in downtown and could be pricey due to the season. Just mentioning it in case you don't mind commuting to Coronado island via bridge. I did well there. There was not much vegetation in the landscaping and you will be literally right next to the ocean with breezes.”

In a thread: Has anyone stayed at the Gaylord Pacific Resort in San Diego?
“Ended up staying at the views in Hotel Del Coronado. It was pretty good but if you stay there make sure it's high up and ask them not to use chemicals as they spray scent everywhere! I'd say I felt 80% there which was good enough for me to enjoy the trip! The old part of the hotel felt very mouldy to me so that's the only part I could recommend.”

“We are staying in a building called The Views. It is a new building and has been fantastic. The room is immaculate with no strong chemical odors or off gassing issues.”

In a thread: Has anyone stayed at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego?
“The majority of the hotel has been renovated or is new. The old building is next to be renovated, but the bungalows by the pool, the tower (was gutted and re-done), and the beach villas are new within the last few years. To be safe, avoid the classic main building.”
