Mold Issues on Different Cruise Ships

I have done wish and destiny with no issues so didnt think about wonder being so old and possible moldy The shower room was very musty, had clear water damage around the outside tub. Fuzzy growth inside the door lock frame. Around light fixtures in stateroom were rusty and one had fuzzy growth as well. Thankfully it was a balcony so I tried to enjoy it as much as possible. I got sinus pressure and my husband got headaches. Im home sick now, only one out of the family On our whatsapp group people mentioned how many were coughing/sick when disembarking

Was on Carnival Breeze, which is an older ship, last month and room was very clean. I was worried but didn’t have any issues.

I did 2 cruises in the past two years, and it's the best I've felt in 20 years! Both rooms had moldy a/c's, I had balconies, and I DRANK and had a ton of fun (80s Cruise). So those all made a difference.

Ugh. Going on the Magic to Alaska this summer for my first cruise. Hoping the ocean air counteracts any issues in the room

Wonder is my favorite ship in the fleet- never had any mold issues, just problems from the heavy scents they use in the atrium areas.

I’ve done Fantasy a couple times with no problems. It’s always a verandah so lots of fresh air.

We are about to go on the brand new destiny ship. We have been on the wish 2x and treasure. One of the rooms on the wish was a little dusty on the intake vents but we haven’t tried any of the older ships

We sailed the fantasy before and I was ok. We go on the dream soon so will see. I always get the verandah room so I can air it out too. Fantasy only concern was in the shower but it didn’t bother me I was on binders for the trip

I’ve been nervous of DCL entering this conversation We’ve cruise the Wish and the Treasure, and headed back in the treasure next month — never challenges, but as you mentioned, these are the newer ships! We’ve never sailed the older classes either. I’m sorry it was horrible! Can I ask if you noticed anything or if you were symptomatic?

Older ships definitely have issues. We’ve been on eight cruises I think. Anyway, yes. We’ve had issues on them. But on others no probelems

No cruises for me. The idea to me is just gross. Moisture mold is real!!

I used to love cruises but won’t risk it anymore with a CIRS diagnosis. There’s nowhere to go (which is why I loved cruises in the 1st place ) if I am out at sea and have a flare-up to mold or heavy scents…so challenging for all of us living with this condition where we “look fine”.

Oh no! We did Royal Caribbean Utopia of the Seas and it was fine, but this is also a newer ship. We recently did MSC Seaside, which is a little older (maybe 10 years old?) and had a balcony cabin and didn't have any problems. I was so nervous!!!!
