  This place on Hilton Head Island might be worth a try. They claim to have new ductwork, an In-line UV air purifier & MERV 13 filters and a whole house dehumidifier. And fragrance-free. https://www.islandsongvilla.com/

  I currently live in Charleston and it is so humid here that mold is everywhere. The Cooper hotel is brand new. How sensitive are you?

  I did in Carolina Beach. It was the first place I went where all my symptoms went away. Before that I was quotes too omg of mold could really do this. That vacation and the one after showed me what it’s really like to be away from mold. A week or two after that vacation, Carolina Beach flooded. I keep wondering if the home was affected. The home was up on stilts and the HVAC unit was on the second floor in the conditioned home. Not sure if that’s what made the difference. The home was also 10-15 year old

  I am from Charleston and I have had personal health issues with mold. I am also a functional RDN that works with environmental health. I am sure you could find a property! How big a house do you need and when?

  I can tell you first hand about my experience in Charleston with the apts downtown. I rented at the Guild as soon as it opened. It was a beautiful well kept building and my ERMI was great. The first couple of years were ideal. Then- as with any communal property - people get careless and water issues happen and they sweep them under the rug. Our unit was flooded through no fault of ours. The management refused to remove the LPV that was under water and didn’t even remove the baseboard or drywall even though the standing water was 3 inches at one point. Trying to get out of our lease was impossible. I didn’t read the fine print. They have it so locked up that even if you took them to court you aren’t allowed to have a jury trial. They clearly have been down this road before and make it impossible to save yourself if your home gets moldy. Just my two cents.

  I’ve had both - good and bad . I always pick a place that has an outdoor area/ balcony that I can put an air mattress out there if I need.. and yes I’ve needed to . Now trying to explain to adults and kids why I was sleeping outside was the most challenging part

  Island Vista resort in Myrtle Beach is worth a try. They have units from 1 to 4 bedrooms and I've never had an issue with mold.

  I grew up in Charleston and it is very tricky. I think it may be possible if you look for newer homes on the rental platforms.
