  We have had decent luck with one in Florida and one in Wisconsin. I can give details if you'd like! Or just search the group for my name. I'm certain I posted them here. Both are houses/condos with full kitchen and laundry. I would classify them both as luxury rentals for vacations but maybe they would be open to working out a longer term rate. We are not as mold sensitive as some but we have a pans kids we try to be extra careful for.

  I prefer hotels because if one room doesnt work you can ask for another room. Or you can see rooms before paying therefore if the hotel is bad, you can leave and not have the hassle of money being tied up. I one time I tried an airbnb it smelled so strongly of cleaner, I couldn't sleep. I ended up losing my 2nd night of money because we just left and went to a hotel instead. It was hard to get money back based on to heavy fragrance.

  My only suggestion is before you book the Airbnb, directly ask them, "have you had any water damage at your location?" Also, ask, "are the HVAC vents cleaned or do they show signs of condensation around them?"That may help get out of the contract if when you arrive you find it different. Also, tell them you are highly sensitive to chemicals, etc., and ask if they had had any complaints from others about VOC related concerns. Some may even let you visit prior to booking. We are moving to our 5th AirBnb since leaving our home in end of September and only one caused no concerns for me.

  We just stayed at a fantastic Airbnb in Tucson for a week, my partner is mold sensitive and did not react at all in this beautiful clean home! It was also scent free and had a killer hot tub!

  I know you say that you can mitigate artificial fragrances if needed but these are often used to cover up musty smells (and can promote the growth of mold) but also, how are your senses going to be able to determine mold if they are being bombarded with similar VOCs from fragrances? Mold and fragrances share important similarities. Both release volatile compounds into the air. Mold releases mycotoxins and microbial VOCs. Fragrances release synthetic VOCs and terpene based chemicals. To a sensitive nervous system and immune system, the body often reads these exposures the same way as a chemical threat. If you react to mold, your body is very unlikely to tolerate fragrance well. Both can trigger inflammation, mast cell activation, neurological symptoms, respiratory distress, fatigue, brain fog, and autonomic instability. Many people notice that mold reactions and fragrance reactions overlap almost completely. A space that smells "clean" is not the same as a space that is actually safe. Creating a mold safe environment means reducing all airborne chemical stressors, not only visible mold. That includes eliminating fragrances so the air is neutral, breathable, and honest.

  I don't have specific suggestions, but I would look for as newly built as possible, and with plan B available like a back yard to pitch a tent for sleeping - while cooking and showering inside.

  So many airbnbs are mold infested because they are flipped properties etc.

  I've stayed in almost 100 airbnbs. Most I had to learn the hard way and wouldn't recommend to the mold sensitive. That being said if you tell me what towns or cities you are thinking of I can tell you which ones to avoid and the occasional ones that worked. We managed to find a good one in Pacific City OR, Coeur d Alene ID, Garden Valley ID, Boise ID, semi-good one in Midway UT.

  This place in Portland was really great for me! Portland is a moldy city in general though. They had mini splits, but they seemed new and didn't smell and didn't affect me. I had no mold reactions here. Small place, but nice and well taken care of. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10387521

  Hi, I just launched my air bnb Houston, TX. We have ermi tested and inspected and have gone above and beyond to ensure humidity levels are under 50 at all times along with providing air purifiers in every bedroom. I can send you a link to our listing! It even has an infrared sauna and cold plunge!
